XPLORE JAPAN (formerly Japan Camp) is a series of two-week programs where students learn about the many facets of Japanese culture. In the morning, each program includes workshops on Japanese language, arts and crafts, cooking and a variety of interesting cultural exercises. In the afternoon, the Japanese students and host students embark together on field trips and participate in fun activities.
The program is held in conjunction with the visit by a group of Japanese students to Massachusetts and Rhode Island during the summer. In each program, students will learn about Japanese culture while their Japanese counterparts study English.
Explore Japan is for girls and boys ages 8-16. Students learn in small groups (broken down by age) under the guidance of a Japanese teacher and a student aide. 
For families who host a visiting Japanese student during the program, Explore Japan is FREE for their child! That is a two week program, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday, including admission and supervision on afternoon field trips -- for free! Each program has a limited number of spaces available, so feel free to sign up now. For those students who are interested in attending the program without hosting a student, there is a tuition fee (please call our office regarding tuition).
Explore Japan is the closest thing to experiencing Japanese culture without actually traveling to Japan, but all students will also qualify to participate in our annual spring trip to Japan (at a very reasonable price).
